And he said unto me, “Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
Revelation 21:5

  • Why do I need an editor? Can't I just edit my book myself?
As the author, you are too close to your work to see it objectively. Our editors provide a fresh perspective, identifying issues and offering improvements that you might overlook. Ensuring your manuscript is polished and professional, our editors correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax errors. Clarity and flow are also improved, making sure your ideas are expressed clearly and logically. Our editors help structure your narrative or argument to keep readers engaged and ensure your message is effectively communicated. This elevates the overall quality of your work, making it more appealing to readers.
  • What kinds of books do you edit?
Jeremiah 30v2 Publishing Services can edit all genres of books, including: Fiction Nonfiction Children’s books Poetry Self-help Cookbooks Memoirs Marketing copy Bible curriculum Christian devotionals Newsletters and articles Website content
  • Do you publish non-Christian works or refuse to publish certain manuscripts?
We at Jeremiah 30v2 Publishing are open to publishing non-Christian works, including cookbooks, copy for blog sites, children’s books, and newsletters, for example. However, we reserve the right to decline any writings that conflict with our Statement of Faith include profanity, or that promote values contrary to Christian beliefs. Each manuscript is reviewed carefully to ensure it aligns with our mission and values as a Christian publishing company. Furthermore, we may also refuse manuscripts that are beyond our scope of expertise.
  • What types of editing services do you offer?
We offer multiple editing services including content editing, comprehensive editing, and proofreading. The typical editing process involves all three services. Any service is available, regardless of whether you choose to publish your document with us. Included with every work/book containing scripture references is a thorough review of every verse to verify that each one is accurately worded and properly cited.
  • Is there a tier with unlimited edits?
No, we do not offer a tier with unlimited edits. Like many authors, you may feel the urge to revise your manuscript multiple times in pursuit of perfection. However, to effectively manage our time across all clients, each editing service includes a limited number of edits. If you make significant revisions after we complete editing, additional charges may apply. Major rewrites and new additions are considered new material, which will increase the word count and the overall cost. However, minor edits and revisions by authors are included in the original pricing and won't incur extra charges. To help keep costs down, we recommend thoroughly revising your manuscript yourself before submitting it to us. Aim for at least three drafts and consider using a beta reading team to catch major issues early. The more polished your manuscript is before it reaches us, the less expensive the editing process will be.
  • What is the editing process, start to finish?

  • How do I submit my work to you?
Go to the Get Started! page to fill out the form and contact us. You can upload either the first chapter or twenty pages of your document as a Microsoft Word attachment. All our editors use Microsoft Word for editing purposes, utilizing the Track Changes feature that allows you (the author) to see every suggested edit. Authors can then accept, reject, or modify the edits and make them part of the manuscript. For more help on how to use Microsoft’s Track Changes feature, go to the Track Changes Tab on our website.
  • What format do you require the manuscript to be in?
We request that all manuscripts be submitted as a Microsoft Word (.docx) file. This enables us to use the Track Changes feature, allowing you to view all suggested edits and either accept, reject, or modify them directly when the manuscript is returned to you. For more information about how to use the Track Changes feature, go to the Track Changes tab on our website.
  • Can I submit my manuscript in a format other than Microsoft Word?
No, we require manuscripts to be submitted as a Microsoft Word (.docx) format. This is because MS Word's editing features, particularly the “Track Changes” tool, are essential for our editing process and ensure consistency across all projects. If your manuscript is in a different format, you will need to convert it to Microsoft Word. However, please note that this conversion may cause formatting issues. Also, you will need MS Word to view the edits clearly. If you are not familiar with how to do this, please seek assistance, as our expertise is in publishing, not technical support. Your manuscript must have a .docx file extension to be compatible with our editing tools.
  • Do I have to pay everything up front, and how do I pay?
We usually ask for half the payment up front and the remaining balance upon completion. We will work with you on a payment plan, if necessary. We accept a variety of payment methods including credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or a money order. We do not take personal checks.
  • Can I call you during the publishing process?
Effective communication between the Client and Publisher is vital for the publishing process. However, most communication will be conducted via email rather than text messages or phone calls. We will strive to respond back to emails in a timely manner—usually within the day. Phone calls will be limited to two instances throughout the entire process and will take place only during work hours to avoid delays and to help the Editor or Publisher be more efficient with their time. If the author desires, we will conduct an initial consultation call after completing a sample edit. Please keep in mind that our team members are also balancing personal responsibilities as spouses, parents, and active members of their churches. We greatly appreciate your trust and are committed to taking care of your manuscript as if it were our own. However, we have many commitments and must balance our time between multiple clients and personal obligations. Therefore, we cannot spend extended periods of time on the phone.
  • How do you use Microsoft Word's Track Changes?
We utilize Microsoft Word’s Track Changes feature to edit your manuscript. If you’re not familiar with this tool, please go to the Track Changes tab for a quick tutorial. Track Changes enables you to see all the suggested* edits made by our editors and allows you to accept, reject, or modify each change. Your manuscript will typically go through multiple rounds of revisions using Track Changes to ensure a thorough review and polished final product. * As with all good copyediting, many of the edits made are only suggestions. The author is invited to read through the edited manuscript and make any changes desired based on the editor’s suggestions, revisions, and professional opinion. It is understood that the book is the property of the author so all final decisions are the author’s. The author is free to accept or reject any recommended changes, as well as make his/her own revisions as he/she reads through the edits.
  • What is book formatting?
Book formatting is the process of arranging the interior layout and design of a book to ensure it is visually appealing, easy to read, and meets industry standards for publishing. This process involves adjusting elements such as fonts, margins, spacing, headings, chapter breaks, and pagination. Book formatting also includes incorporating elements like page color, images, charts, graphs, maps, tables, and footnotes, as well as styling chapter titles, section breaks, and other design elements that contribute to the overall look and feel of the book. Proper formatting enhances the reading experience, maintains a professional appearance, and meets the guidelines set by publishers or platforms where the book will be distributed.
  • Why do I need professional book formatting?
Professional book formatting ensures your work looks polished, reads well, and meets industry standards, creating a credible, professional appearance. It ensures compatibility across different platforms, incorporates design elements seamlessly, and reduces technical errors, providing an enjoyable reading experience. By hiring a professional, you save time, reduce stress, and avoid the pitfalls of self-formatting, ensuring your book meets publishing guidelines and makes a positive first impression on readers.
  • How does book print formatting differ from digital or eBook formatting?
Print Formatting focuses on the layout of physical copies of the book, considering factors like trim size, gutter margins, and the overall aesthetic of the printed page. eBook Formatting adapts the book for digital reading devices, ensuring compatibility across different platforms (like Kindle and Nook). It involves creating a reflowable format that adjusts to different screen sizes, allowing for clickable links, interactive elements, and proper navigation.
  • When should I submit my book for formatting?
Formatting occurs after your manuscript or document has been completely edited. After formatting, your document will be finalized for publishing. If you choose to publish your manuscript with Jeremiah 30v2 Publishing, we will manage every step of the process, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience from start to finish.
  • How long does formatting take?
Each book is different, and more complex books generally take more time to design. Standard formatting projects typically take two to three weeks from start to finish. Custom design projects typically take four to five weeks.
  • Does Jeremiah 30v2 Publishing edit or proofread my manuscript during formatting?
Once your manuscript is at the formatting stage, no more editing will be performed. Our formatting professionals will be solely focused on the visual and technical aspects of your document. Any editorial corrections you request after formatting will incur additional costs. Once we complete the formatting of your manuscript and feel that it is ready for printing, we will suggest one last round of proofreading to make sure that every page is polished and fit to print.
  • What types of files do I need to submit?
Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx). Tables and other text-based design elements (such as captions, sidebars, or pull quotes) should be included in the manuscript. Images, illustrations, and graphics—including charts and graphs—can be embedded in the manuscript to demonstrate their placement, but every image, illustration, or graphic must also be submitted as a print-ready TIF, PNG, or JPG. We can format a chart or graph for you for an additional charge.
  • What makes an image print-ready?
Images are print-ready when they meet the following requirements: High resolution—at least 300 dpi Full size—as large or larger than the size at which they will be printed True color—full color, grayscale, or black-and-white to match how they will be printed Flat—no layers or transparencies are present TIF, PNG, or JPG format Any photo preparation or manipulation services will incur a separate charge. Please contact us to discuss any needs you may have.
  • My manuscript has a lot of complex elements, like notes, tables, and equations. Can your services accommodate that?
Definitely! No matter what the interior of your book includes, our services deliver a professional design in accordance with industry standards, enhancing readability and ensuring a polished, professional appearance.
  • What is self-publishing?
Self-publishing is the process of publishing your own book without the involvement of a traditional publishing house. You retain control over the creative, production, and marketing aspects of your book.

We ensure that your book is polished, meets technical requirements, and is ready for distribution. We offer end-to-end support, including manuscript formatting, cover design, file preparation, ISBN registration, and platform navigation for both Amazon KDP and IngramSpark. We also assist with setting up your book for print-on-demand and digital distribution, ensuring your files meet all platform standards. Our team is here to troubleshoot issues, answer questions, and guide you through each step, from the initial manuscript to the final published product.
  • What are the benefits of using a publishing company for assistance?
By working with a publishing company, you gain access to professional expertise in design, formatting, and platform optimization. We help ensure that your book is presented in the best possible light, increasing its chances of success. You also save time by outsourcing the technical work to experienced professionals, allowing you to focus on writing and marketing. Additionally, our guidance helps you avoid the steep learning curve and potential pitfalls of self-publishing, leading to a smoother, faster publishing process.
  • What is the process of working with you to self-publish my book?
The process begins with a consultation to understand your project and publishing goals. After reviewing a sample of your manuscript (upload here), we provide a project proposal outlining services, timelines, and pricing. Once agreed, we begin formatting your manuscript for print and digital platforms, designing a professional cover, and ensuring all files meet the requirements for Amazon KDP and/or IngramSpark. We also assist with uploading your book to the chosen platforms and setting up an Amazon Author Page.
  • What are the differences between Amazon KDP and IngramSpark, and how can you help with both?
Amazon KDP is primarily for print-on-demand and eBooks sold through Amazon, while IngramSpark offers wider distribution to bookstores, libraries, and other retailers. We help you navigate the specific requirements for both platforms, ensuring your book is properly formatted and optimized for each. This includes assisting with ISBNs, setting up distribution options, and meeting file specifications for both print and digital formats.
  • How do you ensure my book meets the technical requirements of KDP and IngramSpark?
We specialize in formatting manuscripts to meet the technical specifications of both platforms. This includes adjusting margins, fonts, and layout for print and eBook formats, as well as ensuring that cover dimensions and file types are correct. Our attention to detail ensures that your files are approved quickly and your book looks professional when printed.
  • Will I maintain control over my book if I use your services?
Absolutely. You retain full ownership and control of your book, including rights, royalties, and decisions regarding distribution. Our role is to provide professional support to ensure your book is formatted, designed, and published according to your vision.
  • How long does the self-publishing process take with your company?
Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the project, but most projects are completed within eight weeks. We offer clear deadlines in our project proposal and strive to keep the process efficient. Rush services are available if you need your book published sooner.
  • What if I need changes after my book is published?
Both Amazon KDP and IngramSpark allow you to update your book after publication. If you need to make revisions to the manuscript or cover, we can assist with updating and re-uploading files to the platforms, however, this will incur additional charges, depending on the complexity or quantity of changes. This ensures that your book remains up-to-date without needing to go through the entire process again.
  • How do royalties and payments work with Amazon KDP and IngramSpark?
On Amazon KDP, authors earn between 35% and 70% royalties depending on the list price and sales region. IngramSpark offers different royalty structures based on your retail price and distribution options. We help ensure your pricing is set to maximize your royalties while staying competitive in the marketplace.
  • Can I distribute my book to bookstores and libraries?
Yes, with the IngramSpark platform, you can distribute your book to physical bookstores and libraries.
  • Do I need an ISBN for my self-published book?
Yes, an ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is required for physical books sold through retail outlets. Each format that your book is published in (hardback, paperback, eBook, etc.) requires its own ISBN number. Amazon KDP provides a free ISBN for print books, but you may prefer to use your own ISBN for wider control. IngramSpark requires you to provide your own ISBN, which allows for more flexible distribution. We can assist with obtaining and registering an ISBN if needed.
  • Can you help me with book marketing once it’s published?
While we specialize in the publishing process, we can provide basic guidance on setting up your Amazon Author Page, choosing categories and keywords, and making your book discoverable. For more advanced marketing strategies, there are services and resources to help promote your book. Common strategies include engaging on social media, using Amazon ads, and reaching out to book bloggers, reviewers, and influencers.
